2022 Range Rover Plug In Hybrid

Land Rover makes it easy to get into the great outdoors while producing luxury SUVs year after year. The automaker is moving towards electric and hybrid vehicles in the future, giving you even more options for your Broomfield garage.

See what’s available with our Land Rover EV first-time buyer’s guide. Land Rover plans to expand into more EVs in the future, but you’ve got some outstanding options on our lot in Littleton right now thanks to a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model on our lot.

4 Things to Consider When Buying a Land Rover Electric Car

Shopping for a Land Rover electric vehicle is a bit different from a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. So what are some things to consider when buying a Land Rover electric car? We’ll go over what to look for in an EV in detail with the current lineup of Land Rover’s PHEVs.

Overall Cost of EV Ownership

The price of a new vehicle is probably the first thing on your mind when shopping for your next rugged, family-friendly SUV. Investing in a new Land Rover is a big decision, and you want your money to go as far as possible.

When buying a Land Rover hybrid, you’ll save money on gasoline for your daily commutes and weekly errands near your home. All of the other expenses, such as fluid changes and spark plug changes, should be about the same as an internal combustion engine.

Refueling your EV costs less than gas prices, which aren’t going down any time soon. Even charging at peak times of electrical usage can be less expensive than heading to a gas station when charging at a public charging station.

You’ll need an electrician to install a special charging box in your Aurora garage or carport for best results. You could charge your Land Rover PHEV overnight, while you’re sleeping, with a home charging box installed.

Electric Vehicle Range

The overall range between charges is also a major concern for EV shoppers in Westminster. Land Rover’s first pure EV will come out in 2025. In the meantime, there are two PHEVs, one in pre-production, that will make your daily commutes gas-free to save money on your overall fuel costs.

Range Rover PHEV: 51 miles of electric-only range, 5 hours of charging time at home.

Range Rover Sport PHEV (pre-production): 51 miles of electric-only range, 5 hours of charging time at home.

Map Out Public Charging Locations Near Littleton

Commutes in Littleton are not a problem with your Range Rover PHEV. Just like any other trip, you’ll need to map out your trip to make sure your PHEV will have plenty of power at the ready. You can find plenty of DC Fast Charging stations available to the public. Many major metropolitan areas, cities, and well-traveled interstate highways have public charging stations at key locations. When the 51-mile range runs out, you’ll move to gasoline-online travel until you have at least five hours to charge your battery overnight.

Prices will vary at these public stations because electricity costs, just like gasoline prices vary from city to city. Also, take into account how often you’ll use the air conditioner or heater because those run on electricity from the EV battery. Extremely hot or extremely cold temperatures may reduce the range of your Range Rover PHEV considerably, so plan ahead for that as you map your journey from stop to stop.

If you work near a public charging station, consider using that to charge your PHEV while you work if you truly want to keep your gasoline usage to a minimum.

Battery Warranty for EVs

What to look for in an EV naturally includes a quality battery warranty. The battery warranty is important for Land Rover EV owners because you want the powerplant to last for many years, typically as it approaches 100,000 miles, much like you would with the powertrain of a gasoline-powered engine. Land Rover has a very good 6-year, 100,000-mile warranty on the Range Rover’s battery. If it requires replacement before this time, the automaker will replace the EV battery free of charge based on the current warranty stipulations.
